About her:

Kathryn Harris is a Senior Product Development and Nutrition Scientist at Bay State Milling Company where she plays a key role in new product development of healthy plant-based ingredients. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and a Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Katie aspires to bridge the gaps between food science and nutrition communities. Her knowledge of ingredient functionality, food science, nutrition science, and regulatory affairs has allowed her to formulate and commercialize numerous wheat-based products to deliver high fiber and/or high protein claims. Her experience in food and nutrition science also aids in her ability to help develop and implement unique methods to measure the quality of new and novel grain varieties. She is a member of Cereals & Grains, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In her free time, Katie enjoys a variety of outdoor activity and spending quality time with her family, friends, and beloved pets.
